Dental Supplies And Equipment
how would I be able to test different boat hulls, and receive accurate results?
it is for a science fair project, i do not have access to any high teck equipment, with the exception of dental moulding supplies any other science fair ideas wuld be appreciated too;)
Assuming you want to test the hulls for comparitive drag, you need a simple scale such as scales used to weight fish. Build a box with an open top. Make it slightly wider than your widest hull and deep enought to float all of them. Make it about 8 feet long. start at one end and pull the hulls to the other with the scale and record the “weight” that each hull registered. This is a measurement of the drag on the hull and an indication of the still-watrer efficiency of the hull design.
